Light the Way

a King's Church Mission

Volunteering for a Light the Way mission will open up a vast avenue of opportunity. You will be given the chance to visit a nation that is rarely included on the tour guides, but most  importantly, you will have an opportunity to change people's lives, including your own.

You will be encouraged to use and develop your skills in a unique setting and learn about different cultures, customs, a different way of life and meet interesting people.

Rick Warren, author of the widely acclaimed Purpose Driven Life says this, 'I urge you to save and do whatever it takes to participate in a short-term mission trip overseas as soon as possible. It will enlarge your heart, expand your vision, stretch your faith, deepen your compassion and fill you with a kind of joy you have never experienced. It could be the turning point of your life.'

We are always looking for volunteers. The only requirement is a willingness to serve and to be able to work as part of a team.

We have a volunteer code of conduct which reflects our values and all our volunteers are asked to respect and comply with that. We will also require our volunteers to undergo a CRB check as some of our projects involve looking after and caring for children.

If you would be interested in joining one of our mission teams, please contact us.

Fundraising

Do you love a challenge? Organise a fundraiser for us – it could be anything from inviting friends for coffee and cakes at home, to dying your hair or sleeping outside in a tent all night!

Tough Mudder

On 16th September this year, a team from King's Church Chatham took on Tough Mudder to raise money for Light the Way.

A team of Caring Hands supporters raise money for the charity by completing the Tough Mudder half.

Quiz Nights

A few times a year a quiz night is put on by King's Church to raise funds for the Light the Way missions trips. It's a brilliant evening and great fun, so make sure you get involved!
